We are now in our third week of College Application Month. Here are some numbers related to
college that are good to know as you plan for a fabulous future.Nearly 5,000 colleges and universities
exist in our country. Together they grant more than 2 million degrees per year.Since many students
will graduate with $35,000 or more in debt, choose wisely.Sometimes the best decision involves
living at home and attending a local college or university. Community college is still an excellent and
affordable way to begin your higher education. If an institution farther away offers you a
better financial aid package, definitely give it strong consideration even if it means getting out of your
comfort zone.If you live away and end up in the dorm, dont get too excited about your
accommodations.Dormrooms are still considered quite basic. They are basically designed for study
and sleep and the studypart can get tricky if you have a noisy roommate.
Students - Let's give a big shout out to Brendan McClain. He has been accepted to ULM and will
receive the Ace's Award for his outstanding academic achievement. This $6,000

communications and then pursue a career in church ministry. Brendan we are so proud of your
willingness to answer the call to serve others in this capacity and we will surely miss your presence
next year on KREB and around campus.
